Kind of blurry but I couldn't stop traffic for too long : -)
This blog will be used as a personal outlet along my journey of starting my local non-profit, Second Star to the Right, in loving memory of my beautiful baby niece Kayla who passed away from a rare form of brain cancer at the tender age of 27 months old. I will also be participating in a photography project to explore my artistic capabilities once again. Please follow along and wish me Luck!

Second Star to the Right Update
I received a phone call late last night from TJ Garcia's mother, Desiree Garcia, Thanking me for keeping a secret that my sister Rachelle and I knew about. Desiree's mother, Rita, had purchased them a much needed Toyota sienna mini-van. This is especially exciting because the family is in desperate need for the easy access for TJ's wheelchair. Fate would have it that the grandmother was contacted due to a chain of e-mails I sent out asking local dealers to help with any donations, discounts or referrals. Apparently word of mouth and a forwarded e-mail reached the hinds of the right people. They gave an extreme discount to this family in need. Amazing!! I love to hear that things work out like this, Bakersfield Rocks!
Starting my photography project today!
I am super excited to be starting this project today! Thanks to reconnecting with an old friend of mine via facebook I have been presented with a much needed self expression photography project. (Thanks Danielle!) Each day we will be given a different photo subject that must be interpreted and completed on that day. My first subject for today is architecture. So i'm on the hunt!!
